I did exactly what I was hoping to do during this internship. I mainly wanted to learn how to build connections and network efficiently in a workplace. As well as discover what the job of a seller for Canteen holds to get into the mindset of a seller and learn as much as possible in the ten weeks I had. I learned many new strategies, including utilizing DISC and emotional intelligence with the people around me. I use these behavior and communication methods in every room I walk in now. This has helped me solve problems as they arise because I am always bold in asking for help from those around me. I feel that every single part of my experience during the internship was exactly what I was striving to learn. Shadowing RSDs completely solidified my drive to become an RSD after I graduate. I hope to return next summer and learn everything I still need to. I will walk through the selling procedures from beginning to end to ensure there is no stone unturned by the time I graduate. During times of personal uncertainty, Alisa would say, “Just go for it,” with the most relaxed tone. I felt she had my back; I had nothing to lose and everything to gain and get comfortable being uncomfortable.
